Having spent the past decade (more or less) working on Seeking Truth and Hiding Facts, I hope that you can understand my need to flog it.
The book will virtually launch this Wednesday, 9:30am Eastern. That’s in 2 days! In Asia, it’s tomorrow! I’m particularly excited because of the great set of people who are participating. My undergraduate Chinese politics advisor, Scott Kennedy (CSIS), is hosting a panel that includes my Stanford tongxue Yuen Yuen Ang (Michigan), my former colleague Andrew Mertha (SAIS), and the great Yasheng Huang (MIT). We’ll be talking not just about the book but broader trends in China’s politics and economy. Here’s the registration.

I really hope you can make it. And, if you can’t, do download the kindle version while it’s still on sale at $9.99. I’ve actually yet to receive my paperbacks, so if you get a physical copy anytime soon, please let me know that they are out there in meatspace.
There are a couple more pieces that should drop in the next week or two that the curious might enjoy, including an in-depth interview, a piece on GDPism, and an excerpt from the seventh chapter. More to come.
